The state of Utah has a well-deserved reputation for providing excellent medical and healthcare services. The Granger Medical Clinic in West Valley City is no exception.
Dr Lavere Poulsen and Dr Glen Wilson founded Granger Medical more than 50 years ago. Recognizing that, at the time there was very little medical infrastructure west of the Jordan River, Drs. Poulsen and Wilson established their practice to serve the growing city of what was then known as Granger, Utah and the surrounding communities.
Since then, the clinic has grown to include 55 medical providers and is the largest independent clinic in the Salt Lake Valley. Granger is a one-stop-shop designed to accommodate all of a patients medical needs at one convenient location. Services include: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Podiatry, General Surgery, Ear Nose and Throat, Neurology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Endocronology, and Orthopedic Surgery. X-ray, laboratory, and physical therapy services are also available at the clinic.
Patients appreciate that Granger accepts most all health insurance plans allowing for continuity of care with their own doctor in the event of a change in their insurance coverage.
Dr. Mary Jane Pennington, a practicing pediatrician, currently serves as chair of the board of directors, the governing body of Granger Clinic.
This past year Granger added a third location in Riverton.
As part of its commitment to deliver the highest level of care, the clinic is in the process of implementing a sophisticated electronic medical record system that allows the providers to instantly access the patient data needed and automates activities such as prescribing, dictating, ordering labs and reviewing results, documenting clinical encounters, and providing patient education.
