Pediatric neurologist discusses seizure rescue medications

Granger Medical Clinic presented an informative seminar about seizure rescue medications last Thursday, April 9, in conjunction with MassMutual Intermountain West SpecialCare and the Epilepsy Association of Utah.

Pediatric neurologist Denise Morita, MD, discussed the basics of seizure rescue medications, when and why they are used, common types and dosages, as well as the safety levels of such medications.

Held at the South Jordan Library, the presentation was open to parents, caregivers, educators, nurses, and others who work with children who have seizures.

Dr. Morita, who sees patients at Granger Medical Clinic in Draper and Riverton, UT, is a member of the Epilepsy Association of Utah Professional Advisory Board and was honored with the associations 2014 Community Service Award.
