Dr. Pennington has served as the president of Granger Medical Clinic for 20 years playing an integral role in the clinic’s growth. She is also CEO of Physicians Accountable Care of Utah, the ACO that was developed in 2013 by Granger Medical Clinic, Wasatch Internal Medicine and Foothill Family Clinic.
PACU’s 2015 results showed that our expenditure per beneficiary is the sixth lowest in the country among ACO’s participating in the Medicare MSSP program with a quality score of 99.11 percent out of 100. We continue to work on expanding our care program activities at Granger Medical that have resulted in a 5 percent decrease in hospital inpatient costs in 2016.
She and her husband of 32 years have three daughters – one is a pediatric resident in Seattle, another is a NICU nurse and one graduated with an engineering degree.
Helping our children to grow up to be healthy and happy requires a strong partnership between their parents and their pediatrician. I love seeing my patients as they develop from active and curious toddlers into strong and caring adults. Over the last 20 years, pediatric practice has changed from mostly treating earaches and sore throats to dealing more with counseling kids and families as they navigate sometimes challenging developmental stages.
