Amanda Hood-Nelson, FNP-C joins Granger Medical Clinic as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a native of Utah, and has worked as an intensive care nurse at Intermountain Medical Center for the past 5 years. She is excited to change gears and focus on wellness and health promotion in her own community.
Amanda’s healthcare philosophy focuses in health education and promotion. She believes that by building strong relationships with her patients, she can give them the tools to become healthy, both mentally and physically. Having prior experience as a nurse has provided Amanda with plenty of experience to communicate with patients in a meaningful way. Amanda likes to be thorough with every patient visit, and try to help each patient be as healthy as they possibly can.
Services Amanda offers include: preventative care, physicals and wellness visits, women’s health checks (including pap smears), contraception counseling, IUD and Nexplanon placement, chronic disease management, weight management, child and adolescent healthcare, hypertension management, mental health care, joint injections, and minor office procedures such as skin biopsies.
She is happily married with two Australian Shepherds, Charlie and Lola. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, yoga, reading, travel, and being in Utah’s beautiful outdoors.
