Reed H. Evers, MD was born and raised in Oklahoma. He earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and obtained his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK. He spent his internship and residency training at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. During his time in upstate New York, he met his wife, Karen, who was also a member of his residency class. After they completed their residency training, the happy couple moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Karen completed a fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology and Dr. Evers worked as a general pediatrician. During their three years in Philadelphia, Dr. Evers and his wife enjoyed exploring the city, attending concerts, and eating delicious Philly cuisine. (Though it’s a controversial topic in Philadelphia, Dr. Evers is happy to share his personal favorite place to get a cheesesteak. Just ask!)
Dr. Evers and his wife Karen are now excited to join the Salt Lake City community where they both practice medicine.
Dr. Evers’ practice includes newborn care and well-child visits which involve assessing childhood development, providing anticipatory guidance and administering childhood vaccines. He also provides physical exams for sports participation, camp participation, mission participation, etc. While he treats a wide variety of common childhood problems, Dr. Evers is especially interested in the treatment and management of asthma.
Dr. Evers is an enthusiastic pediatrician who enjoys taking care of children of all ages. Throughout his training and professional career as a general pediatrician, Dr. Evers has aimed to make an impactful connection with his patients and their families. He appreciates that every patient and family experience is a unique one and enjoys providing guidance to both his patients and their family members. His goal is to create a collaborative partnership with his patients and their caregivers in which he hopes to equip them to take an active role in the child’s health and wellbeing.
Dr. Evers and his wife enjoy traveling with family and friends, exploring new places and experiencing new customs, cultures, and cuisines. On weekends, they can often be found camping, hiking, snowshoeing, and bird watching as they explore all the amazing wildlife that Utah has to offer. Dr. Evers also enjoys participating in music in a number of different ways, whether it be listening to old vinyl records at home on his stereo, attending live concerts and music festivals, or simply playing his guitar, ukulele, or piano at home as a relaxing pastime.
