Shanell graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2004 and a Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2010. Looking to expand her abilities in caring for her patients, she went on to further her education and recently graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Weber State University. Her prior work experience includes working as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department, Newborn ICU, Neuropsychiatry, Pediatrics, and Urgent Care.
As a registered nurse, Shanell had the opportunity to work along-side several nurse practitioners over the years and was able to observe the responsibility of that role. She instantly knew that it was what she was meant to do. The journey to become a family nurse practitioner has been a challenging and rewarding experience for her. The education and knowledge that she has gained over the past two years has vastly prepared her for transitioning into the role of a patient care provider.
Shanell is excited to join Granger Medical Clinic and continue her professional journey. She thinks of her career as one big learning opportunity that continuously grows with each patient. She is dedicated to keeping her work practical, relevant, and evidence-based.
Outside of medicine, Shanell spends her free time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. As Utah natives, they enjoy the mountainous landscape and being outdoors.
