David H. Oelsner, MD

Dr. Oelsner is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He completed his training in 1997 and has been providing general gastroenterology care ever since. He moved to Salt Lake City from New Orleans, joining Granger Medical Clinic gastroenterology department in 2006. Dr. Oelsner enjoys biking (both mountain and road), hiking, skiing and the outdoors in general. He recently acquired a travel trailer so he and his family, his wife of 26 years and 3 sons, can spend even more time enjoying the outdoors. With is free time, Dr. Oelsner also serves on the board at the Jewish Community Center of Salt Lake City.

Gastroenterology is exciting and interesting to him because there are a variety of conditions that can make a difference in a patient’s life. He likes to give every patient a chance to tell him their story about why they are there to see him. Test and procedures are necessary to help make a diagnosis and fix the underlying problem, but Dr. Oelsner tries to keep these to a minimum. Medical care is expensive and he always keep that in mind where prescribing medications or ordering tests.
