Steve A. Oliver, MD

Urgent Care

Dr. Oliver is a native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his internship and residency in Family Medicine at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA in 1982 and has been board certified in Family Medicine since that time. He practiced Family Medicine for 30 years in both the military and at UC Davis, CA. His practice included outpatient care for all ages, obstetrics, hospital care, and nursing home care. Dr. Oliver has worked in academic medicine, including teaching in two Family Medicine residency programs. While in the military, he received additional training in Aerospace Medicine and also participated in humanitarian medical missions to Panama, Nicaragua, and Antartica.

Dr. Oliver believes that good communication between physician and patient is essential, and he feels that providing patients with the most information they need to understand their health, illness, and wellness is one of the most important aspects in providing good health care.

In practicing Urgent Care Medicine, Dr. Oliver stays up to date with the current medical guidelines through continued education. He utilizes the best medical resources available at Granger Medical Clinic and the community to ensure that his patients receive the best care possible. Dr. Oliver also believes that everyone should be able to receive good health care, and he volunteers his time in a free clinic on a weekly basis to help the uninsured patients.

Outside of work Dr. Oliver enjoys hiking, backpacking, fishing, skiing, and gardening.

He is married with 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
